Last holiday season, Code ministries hosted its first Christmas outreach program in the Philippines, The Noche Buena: Fund a Feast Program. We felt in our hearts to reach out to the underprivileged families in both the rural and urban areas of Cagayan de Oro City, a city located in the northern Island of Mindanao, in the Philippines. In recent years, Cagayan de Oro has become one of the most progressive cities in the country. However, due to unfavorable calamities that hit the city year after year, some residents, specially the small percentage who are living in extreme poverty, are still struggling in keeping up with their daily needs such as food, water, and for some, even shelter.

Because of this, we found the need to bring a little light into their lives during the Christmas season. With our partnership with Boodlelicious Grill restaurant and Philippine Mental health Association, we were able to provide “Noche Buena” meals to more than 200 families.

In the Philippines, Noche Buena is a traditional Christmas Eve dinner that usually last until Christmas morning. Most households would have several dishes laid out on the table, but for some, even a little decent meal is often difficult to provide. But with your gracious hearts and generosity, we were able to bless these families with a delightful meal.

Just when we think God couldn’t provide us with more than what we already have, He comes and surprises us with gifts greater than ourselves. So, in behalf of everyone at Code Ministries, and the families you were able to feed, we would like to thank you for contributing to the success of this great endeavor. We would also like to thank the diverse pool of volunteers who generously dedicated their time in helping out with the operations.

We pray that this would continue on in the future and have more families to spread joy not just during the holidays.
