Settling down for the storm
Rising flood waters threaten
The wind pulls at his hair
He squints and sees through

Particles of organic matter swirl
Swarm and he starts to sweat
Adrenaline rushes to his head
He peers confidently past it

Purpose full of joy, full of sorrow
Reverence for mercy and fear of God
Could hardly describe his piety
He lowers himself further

A man of no reputation, gains ignominy
Dies humiliated before the world
There are no words to apply comfort
Only sorrow and blood flowed

Buried and embalmed
Covered and entombed
Death saturated the world
But He destroyed it
