“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” -Acts 2:42 (ESV)
It’s easy to roll through the days without being intentional. In what ways are you hoping to grow in your faith? Maybe you want to be bolder in prayer, or more connected in worship. Maybe you want to be more knowledgeable of the scriptures. The way to do these things is to put time into it. Carve out some time in your routine. Better yet, build your routine around your priorities.
Today, I challenge you to 10 minutes of prayer. You can pray longer, by all means, but just 10 minutes talking to God.
Feel free to listen. Feel free to ask Him questions. Feel free to meditate in that, where you’re just prayerfully still before Him. But talk to Him. Take up your causes to Him. Tell Him what’s bugging you, and what’s making you smile.
It might sound like nothing, but it might be 10 minutes more than you spend intentionally praying. Find a room to be alone and kneel it out. My mom recommends the bathroom haha.
And for some of you, this needs to become part of your routine. We need to learn how to talk to Jesus, and we practice and become comfortable. Prayer warriors practice! Ask the Lord if He’s calling you into the ministry of intercession.
Prayer
Holy Spirit, we ask that You help us to pray. Thank You for inviting us to work with You. We love You and we want to love like You. Help us love in action. In Jesus’ name we pray.
